CAR-T for Lymphomas: Cultivating a Cure, Controlling a Crisis is organized by Healthcare Made Practical (HMP) Communications LLC and will be held from Oct 31, 2018 - Oct 31, 2019.

Target Audience:
Designed for hematologists and hematologic oncologists, medical, radiation, and surgical oncologists, and other healthcare professionals (e.g., physicians, physicians-in-training, oncology nurses, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, physician assistants) who are involved and/or interested in the treatment of patients with hematologic malignancies.

Course Overview:
Hematologists/oncologists, PAs, NPs, and other clinicians who manage adult patients with various types of non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) are lacking both experience in and knowledge about the applicability of chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) for refractory patients with these hematologic diseases. While this pioneering new gene therapy could potentially affect a cure in some patients, it can also commence a metabolic, life-threatening crisis in the form of cytokine release syndrome (CRS) and neurologic toxicities. This on-demand web archive is initiated to address such CAR-T-related knowledge and practice gaps among physicians, NPs, and PAs who manage patients with hematologic malignancies such as NHL, as well as to provide practical direction in managing potential adverse reactions.

Course Objectives:
• Define the currently available CAR-T interventions and the hematologic diseases for which they are indicated
• Recount efficacy findings from clinical trials for the role of CAR-T in adult B-cell lineage lymphomas
• Develop an interventional strategy that adheres to established REMS protocols to rectify CRS and neurologic toxicities
