California Society of Addiction Medicine (CSAM) Sedative-Hypnotics is organized by California Society of Addiction Medicine (CSAM) and will be held during Sep 22, 2016 - Sep 21, 2018.
The target audience for this medical event is Addiction medicine specialists who want an overview of the latest developments in the field and their relevance to clinical practice, Primary care clinicians who want to get a better understanding of addiction and manage patients with addictions in their practice, Public health officials who want an understanding of the current state of addiction treatment, Non-physicians who are involved in the treatment of addiction. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 1.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit.
Conference Description :
This lecture covers the pharmacology, epidemiology, diagnosis, detox, and treatment of benzodiazepine substance use disorders.
Conference Objectives are :
• Recognize benzodiazepine withdrawal syndromes.
• Discuss the pharmacology of bwenzodiazpeines.
• Use epidemiological data to help assess the risk of benzodiazepine use disorders.
• Apply an understanding of the risk of mixing benzodiazepines and opioids.
• Assess methods of tapering from benzodiazepines (BZs) in different patients.
