OVERVIEW

The Guthy-Jackson Charitable Foundation (GJCF) NMOSD Grand Rounds program aims to inform practicing neurology specialists as well as the broader spectrum of neurologists and allied healthcare providers regarding latest information in evidence-based science and medicine of NMOSD. This program features 12 essential topics addressed by experts in the field at a monthly interval. Organized and curated by GJCF advisors, this series of educational webinars enables continuing medical education (CME) credit.

Session entitled “Best Practice Care of Patients in Special Populations” is designed to update knowledge important for understanding unique aspects of diagnosis, treatment and multidisciplinary care for NMOSD patients in special populations including pediatric, adolescent, pregnancy, elderly, and autoimmune and non-autoimmune comorbidities. This topic reflects the need for real-world clinical care to keep pace with NMOSD patients living longer and more dynamic lives in the era of approved therapeutics.

Educational Objectives
After completing this activity, learners will be able to:
1. To become familiar with the optimal management of pregnancy in NMOSD.
2. To learn about the comorbidities associated with NMOSD.
3. To understand the optimal management of pediatric NMOSD.
