OVERVIEW
Basal Cell Proliferations of the Prostate, including Basal Cell Hyperplasia and Basal Cell/Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma is organized by Opus Medicus, Inc. and will be held during Apr 23, 2017 - Apr 22, 2020.
The target audience for this medical event is Pathologists, Oncologists. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 1.0 MA PRA Category 1 Credits.
Course Description:
This course presents an image-intensive case-based didactic review of basaloid hyperplasia and carcinomas of the prostate. It discusses basal cell-secretory cell relationship, basal cell hyperplasia, and basal cell carcinoma. It reviews the epidemiology, histologic features, immunophenotype, and clinical behavior of basal cell/adenoid cystic carcinoma.
Course Topics:
• The molecular relationship of prostatic basal cells and secretory cells.
• Histologic criteria and recognition of prostatic basal cell hyperplasia.
• Histologic and immunophenotypic features of prostatic basal cell/adenoid cystic carcinoma.
• Epidemiology and clinical behavior of prostatic basal cell carcinoma.
Course Objectives :
• Understand the molecular relationship of basal cells to secretory cells of the prostate.
• Understand the histologic features of basal cell hyperplasia of the prostate.
• Be able to recognize and diagnose basal cell carcinoma of the prostate.
• Understand the epidemiology and clinical behavior of prostatic basal cell carcinoma.
Additional details will be posted as soon as they are available.
