Goal:
This virtual continuing education activity will present the theory of self-massage to pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, concentrating on types of pain most likely to respond to massage. It will examine the history of massage and the proof that encourages its use in a variety of conditions. It will also address the massage devices and counseling points that pharmacists can utilize when assisting patients.

Course Objectives:
At the conclusion of this Online CME Course, the participant should be able to,

At the end of the session, pharmacy attendees will be able to, 
• Note the conditions for which proof exists to support the use of self-massage
• Examine the patient pain characteristics that would be compatible with self-massage
• Recognize various types of self-massage devices and when they are most effective
• Draft counseling points for appropriate use of self-massage devices

At the end of this activity, the pharmacy technician will be able to,
• Enlist the conditions for which evidence exists to support the use of self-massage
• Explain patient pain characteristics that would be compatible with self-massage
• Catalog various types of self-massage devices and when they are most effective
