OVERVIEW

At Risk, SCI, eMCI: The Alphabet Soup of Preclinical and Prodromal Alzheimer Disease is organized by University of North Texas Health Science Center (UNTHSC) and will be held from May 23, 2018 - May 22, 2020.

The target audience for this medical event is planned to address the educational needs of physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and nurses. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 1 Contact Hours.

Course Description:
This presentation will discuss updates in the field on the diagnosis, prognosis and possible therapies for preclinical (cognitively normal adults at risk for Alzheimer Disease) and prodromal (adults with mild cognitive impairment due to Alzheimer disease) Alzheimer disease.

Course Objectives are :
• Distinguish between the stages of Alzheimer disease (AD) which precede dementia, ie preclinical/at risk/stage 0, subjective cognitive impairment (SCI)/stage 1, and early mild cognitive impairment/prodromal AD/stage 3
• Explain the temporal progression and risk factors for progression and treatments for each stage of an AD which precedes dementia;
• Apply recent research findings to be able to identify patients in these stages of AD
