Overview:
Anchored and building on the release of the Special National Academy of Medicine (NAM) publication titled: “Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare: The Hope, The Hype, The Promise, The Peril.” Co-led by Michael Matheny and Sonoo Thadaney Israni, the authoring group of national leaders focuses on the application of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) in health and health care explore opportunities, issues, and concerns in the expanded application of these technologies to improve health care outcomes. This module covers model development and validation.

Objectives:
• Define basic elements of artificial intelligence model development and validation.
