Release Date: Oct 16, 2026
Expiration Date: Oct 15, 2027

Description:
Applied Judgment in Early Symptomatic Alzheimer’s Disease: Eligibility, Safety, and Shared Decision-Making is a CME-certified, case-based educational program designed to equip clinicians with the practical skills needed to integrate anti-amyloid monoclonal antibody therapies into real-world care. In response to the rapid evolution of Alzheimer’s disease (AD) treatment and the shift toward biologically guided, risk-stratified management, this activity addresses critical gaps in clinician readiness related to patient selection, biomarker confirmation, safety monitoring, and multidisciplinary coordination. Through interactive, peer-driven learning, participants will strengthen their ability to identify appropriate candidates using evidence-based eligibility and triage criteria, interpret and manage amyloid-related imaging abnormalities (ARIA), and apply patient-centered shared decision-making strategies. The program emphasizes real-world application through case scenarios, role-specific tools, and collaborative discussion, enabling learners to align treatment decisions with patient values while ensuring safe and effective longitudinal care. This activity is designed for US-based neurologists, dementia specialists, and advanced practice providers (NPs and PAs) involved in the care of patients with AD. By enhancing applied clinical judgment and team-based care strategies, the program aims to reduce variability in practice, improve patient-centered outcomes, and bridge the gap between clinical trial evidence and everyday implementation.

Learning Objectives:
After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:

  • Identify appropriate candidates for anti-amyloid monoclonal antibody therapy by applying evidence-based eligibility and triage criteria, encompassing biomarker confirmation strategies.
  • Differentiate clinically meaningful ARIA findings to guide appropriate treatment continuation, interruption, or discontinuation based on imaging findings and patient risk profile.
  • Employ patient-centered SDM strategies to effectively communicate realistic treatment goals, potential benefits, risks, and monitoring requirements of anti-amyloid therapies to patients and care partners in a manner that supports informed consent and aligns with patient values.
  • Design multidisciplinary care models for AD management by coordinating roles and workflows to support safe initiation and longitudinal management of amyloid-targeting therapies.
