Specialty Pharma Education Center (SPEC) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. This program is approved for 2.0 hours (0.20CEUs) of continuing pharmacy education credit. Proof of participation will be posted to your NABP CPE profile within 4 to 6 weeks to participants who have successfully completed the post-test (score of 70% or higher). Participants will have 3 opportunities to pass the post-test. Participants must participate in the entire presentation and complete the course evaluation to receive continuing pharmacy education credit.

• Recognize the prevalence and epidemiology of schizophrenia
• Describe the etiology and pathophysiology of schizophrenia
• Identify the general categories of schizophrenia's symptoms and identify them in patients
• Discuss methods used to diagnose schizophrenia and disorders to be considered in its differential diagnosis
• Describe currently available antipsychotic agents used to treat schizophrenia, their mechanisms of action, efficacy, dosing, safety and tolerability profiles
• Identify common comorbid conditions in patients with schizophrenia
• Recognize the importance of adherence in schizophrenia patients and the prevalence of non-adherence in this patient population
