Dr. Sicat explains the medications that may cause weight gain or weight loss in patients with obesity and how weight loss may need adjustments in therapy for diabetes, lipids, hypertension, and sleep apnea.

• Remember that aggressive dietary intervention may risk hypoglycemia in patients with diabetes treated with insulin and other diabetes medications and perform measures to avoid complications
• Describe how weight loss in patients with obesity may need modifications in therapy for diabetes, lipids, hypertension, and sleep apnea
• Recognize medications that may produce weight gain or impede weight loss in patients with obesity
