Abdomen Ultrasound

This continuing education course provides healthcare professionals with an in-depth understanding of abdominal ultrasound, a key diagnostic modality for evaluating various abdominal conditions. Participants will learn to navigate abdominal anatomy and apply ultrasound techniques to assess organs, including the liver, gallbladder, kidneys, spleen, and abdominal vasculature. Educational Objectives

• Identify the normal anatomy of the free peritoneal fluid, aorta, kidneys, pelvis, and gallbladder using ultrasound imaging.
• Select appropriate transducers and demonstrate correct orientation and movement techniques to obtain optimal abdominal ultrasound images.
• Describe the Right Upper Quadrant (RUQ) acoustic window and apply proper techniques for its assessment.
• Describe the Left Upper Quadrant (LUQ) acoustic window and apply proper techniques for its assessment.
• Recognize abnormal findings in abdominal ultrasound, including pathologies in the kidney, pelvis, aorta, and gallbladder.
• Discuss the clinical application of ultrasound-guided paracentesis and identify how ultrasound enhances the procedure's safety and accuracy.
