#7425 Introduction to Dry Needling is organized by MotivationsCEU.

Description:
This webinar is a beginner tutorial and definition with demonstration of the modality of dry needling, effect, causation, mechanism of action, safety, adverse effects and ways it can complement other treatments in rehab. The information will include an overview of trigger point dry needling based on the anatomy and physiology of the MSK system and will summarize the local effects on soft tissue dysfunction, inflammation, circulation and use in remodeling healing phase. Also, we will compare the coupling of vacuum cupping, IASTM and palpation/selection of trigger points in various orthopaedic and musculoskeletal common conditions on a joint by joint analysis for best results. The course will include a demonstration of superficial, deep and symptomatic dry needling and how it can be integrated with other forms of manual therapy.

Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to:

  1. Review dry needling processes for effect, causation, mechanism of action, safety, adverse effects and ways it can complement other treatments in rehab.
  2. Summarize the local effects on soft tissue dysfunction, inflammation, circulation and use in remodeling healing.
  3. Review of the systemic effects on physiological systems, substance P with activation of endorphins & biomechanical balance.
  4. Analysis coupling of vacuum cupping, IASTM and palpation/selection of trigger points in various orthopaedic and musculoskeletal common conditions on a joint by joint analysis.
  5. Explain the mechanism of action on the effect with demonstration of needle placement and insertion. Review effect of sympathetic system, effect on vasodilators, balance of adenosine and NO as well as rebalance on the parasympathetic and sympathetic systems as a whole.
  6. Demonstrate superficial, deep and symptomatic dry needling and how it complements other forms of manual therapy
