#7309 Therapeutic Intervention for Children with Severe Involvement -  Care for medically complex diagnosed patients is organized by MotivationsCEU.

Description:
Designing, implementing, and measuring success of therapy sessions for children with severe involvement and/or medically complex diagnoses can be challenging.  This webinar will provide you with the tools to create playful treatment sessions that are focused on a measurable functional outcome referencing current concepts of motor learning, motor control, neuroplasticity and the NDTA™ Contemporary Practice of NDT. Case studies and video analysis with guided discussion will provide an opportunity for fine tuning assessment skills, prioritizing identified impairments, developing goal attainment scale (GAS) goals, and formulating intervention strategies for improved patient performance of functional activities and activities of daily living (ADL’s). Appropriate adjuncts to traditional therapy for the child with severe involvement and/or medically complex diagnosis will be discussed.

Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to:

  1. Choose priority impairments based on evaluating fundamental movement skills of video clients based on the NDT Practice Model.
  2. Develop GAS goals for video case studies that are activity specific and/or occupation-based, dependent upon your therapy discipline List specific intervention strategies for the severely involved and/or medically complex client across academic and non-academic settings.
  3. Define the importance of handling skills in combination with problem solving throughout assessment and intervention sessions.

This is a 5-hour course equivalent to 5 CEU’s or 0.5 CEUs offered as a live webinar or self-study.
