Description:
The goal of this course is to blend current evidence and best clinical practice into a didactic and interactive electronic format to assist clinicians in identifying impairments and building treatment plans for children with neurologic diagnosis. The current body of literature is vast and can be overwhelming for clinicians to gain access to, to understand, and to apply to their specific patients.  This course will bridge the gap between assessment and treatment planning.  The format will be lecture, video patient demonstrations for treatment strategies, and problem solving via break out rooms.

Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to:

  1. Recognize the NDTA Contemporary Practice Model as it relates to identifying priority impairments.
  2. Identify a priority impairment list.
  3. Understand the importance of handling skills in combination with problem solving throughout assessment andintervention sessions.
  4. Identify handling strategies for postural control and stability, which can be applied during ADLs and play and to maximize performance outcomes.
Credits

This is a 3 contact hour course equivalent to 3 CEU’s or 0.3 CEUs offered as a live webinar or self-study.
