Description:
This presentation outlines novel, clinically relevant, and simple-to-use spasticity-reduction treatment options. Included is the neuroplastic model of spasticity reduction designed to leverage brain plasticity to reduce spasticity in people with brain injury. Also reviewed are simple spasticity measurements to establish efficacy of treatment.

Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to:

  • Utilize three quick and simple ways of measuring spasticity to show efficacy of treatment.
  • Name spasticity in a way that is simple and accurate.
  • Classify what is—and what is not—effective for spasticity reduction.
