This webinar explains surgery, from traditional to cutting edge techniques, in addition to evidence-based rehab and return to activity guidelines for joint replacement surgeries of the shoulder, hip and knee. Understanding modern technology and being able to confidently communicate to the patient is extremely important in the total care. This highly interactive webinar will provide the attendee a look at core implications of joint replacement patients in consideration of the evidence-based knowledge to take patients from surgery recovery to the start of rehabilitation for return to an active life.

Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to:

  • Analyze the history of Total Joint Arthroplasty and modern advances of Same Day Surgery, Pain Management
  • Identify and address the common concerns and frequently asked questions (FAQs) raised by patients to understand the reasons behind the dissatisfaction of 25% of Total Joint Patients, enabling rehab professionals to enhance patient satisfaction through effective communication and problem-solving strategies
  • Present rehab methods that address patients who encounter barriers to recovery and IADL function and do not meet anticipated functional goals.
  • Present effective therapeutic solutions for return to activities and sports following Total Shoulder, Hip and Knee Arthroplasty and how to incorporate these interventions into your treatment program.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in executing functional assessments of pre-op and post-op gait for patients undergoing total hip and knee replacement surgeries. Learn skills to pinpoint areas of difficulty and implement individualized corrective exercise routines andmanual therapy interventions to optimize functional outcomes.
  • Demonstrate application of acquired skills in an experiential lab focused on manual therapy and corrective exercises, specifically addressing Total Shoulder, Reverse Shoulder Arthroplasty, and Total Hip and Knee range of motion as well as strength facilitation techniques.

This is a 3 contact hour course equivalent to 3 CEU’s or 0.3 CEUs offered as a live webinar or self-study.
