# 381 Pediatric Therapeutic Taping - Part A and B is organized by MotivationsCEU.

Description:
Part A This virtual conference will focus on use of static and dynamic taping techniques to facilitate improved alignment and muscle reeducation for function. Developmental and adult biomechanics in relation to treatment will be reviewed. Tapes and interventions discussed include: rigid strapping tape, Kinesio tape ®, velcro patches with elastic straps, neoprene wraps, compression orthotics. Course instruction method includes: lecture, demonstration, videos, case studies and question/answers.

Part B: This course will include hands-on labs experience and demonstration. A taping supply kit will be provided. Part A is a prerequisite course

Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify specific developmental features in trunk, upper and lower extremities.
  2. Describe the importance of alignment for support and initiation of movement.
  3. Explain the basic assessments for biomechanical alignment and range of motion.
  4. Discuss findings with problem solving and treatment options.
  5. Identify contraindications to taping.
  6. Describe skin care and tape removal.
  7. Describe the following taping materials: Leukotape, Hypafix/Coveroll, Kinesio ® Tex tape, Velcro patches with velstretch, neoprene wraps/fabrifoam, compression orthotics.
  8. Describe the principles of taping and strapping as an adjunct to treatment.
  9. Explain the use of taping /strapping to improve neuromuscular reeducation for alignment in functional activities.
