This CME Teaching Activity:
This seminar is designed to provide a practical review of soft tissue, orthopedic pathology, breast pathology and gastrointestinal pathology. Faculty share basic to advanced techniques, pitfalls and pearls to pathologic diagnosis. Interactive case reviews emphasize the didactic material presented.

Educational Objectives:
At the completion of this CME activity, subscribers should be able to:
• Differentiate benign breast disease and atypical proliferative lesions.
• Discuss liver biopsies in the post-HCV era.
• Achieve a better understanding of HER in GI malignancies and comparisons to breast.
• Prepare for colon cancer and universal screening for Lynch syndrome.
• Identify conditions to consider before surgical pathology subspecialty sign-out.
• Discuss breast cancer predictive factor testing (ER, PR & HER2).
• Analyze myxoid soft tissue tumors and peripheral nerve sheath tumors.
• Identify key features of genomic testing in breast cancer diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Describe sclerosing lesions of the breast.
• Discuss the utility of cytogenetic and FISH studies in workup of adipocytic lesions.
• Review differential diagnoses and pitfalls in fatty tumors.
• Review the appropriate use (and potential pitfalls) of MDM2 FISH studies in the work-up of a spindle cell malignancy in the retroperitoneum.
• Discuss bone-forming and cartilage-forming soft tissue tumors, as well as sarcomas that may occasionally produce matrix.
• Discuss the differential diagnosis of a spindle cell sarcoma with herringbone/fascicular growth.
• Discuss peripheral nerve sheath tumors, fibrohistiocytic neoplasms and vascular lesions.
• Review new entities such as soft tissue angiofibroma and biphenotypic sinonasal sarcoma.
• Review entities such as fibroepithelial stromal polyp, cellular angiofibroma, mammary-type myofibroblastoma, angiomyofibroblastoma and aggressive angiomyxoma, as well as their mimics.
