2015 Simple Cooking With Heart CME is organized by American Heart Association (AHA) and would be held during Feb 25, 2016 to Feb 24, 2019. The target audience for this medical event basically for Cardiologists. This CME conference has been approved with a maximum of 1.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
1-hour enduring webinar will include providing an overview of at-home meal preparation and consumption as a key preventative health measure, discussing barriers patients/clients experience when it comes to at-home meal preparation, educating on patient-centered assessment and action planning for providers to initiate behavioral changes, and introducing Simple Cooking with Heart program tools and materials as resources for patients/clients to gain and maintain culinary skills through low-cost, nutritional meal preparation.
Objectives
• Discuss the importance of tailoring health-based behavioral modifications to each unique patient/client through a collaborative communication approach.
• Identify patient/client's perspective on life situations, food knowledge and preferences, and actual and perceived barriers influencing at-home meal preparation and consumption in order to integrate food-based dialogue into customized care plans.
• Employ theory-based strategies and constructs for practitioners to use to engage patient/client in health education and to increase self-motivation to achieve personal and health goals.
• Utilize Simple Cooking with Heart as an evidence- based tool for patient/ client use in conversations with patients/ clients.
