12th Annual Medical Director/physician Leadership Forum is organized by OptumHealth Education (OHE) and will be ehld from Aug 06, 2018 - Aug 06, 2020.

Intended audience:
This activity is designed to meet the educational needs of case managers, nurses, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, physicians and other health care professionals that manage large patient populations and/or their benefits.

Course Description:
Topics addressed during these presentations include: precision medicine, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy, diabetes, big data in the research of cancer treatments and quality of care in oncology, management plans for the elderly and acute stroke.

Course Objectives:
At the end of this educational activity, participants should be able to:
• Discuss the current and future roles of precision medicine in the prevention and management of disease.
• Describe the recent Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease (GOLD) guideline revisions and recommendations, and discuss the latest evidence-based management strategies for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
• Examine the role of chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy in cancer treatment, the future direction of this therapy and management strategies for its associated toxicities.
• Outline the latest American Diabetes Association (ADA) guideline recommendations for the diagnosis and management of diabetes, and discuss current devices for continuous glucose monitoring.
• Define the application of big data in the research of cancer treatments and quality of care in oncology, and identify the potential future applications for big data.
• Describe the role of the Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment (CGA) in formulating a comprehensive management plan for the elderly in diverse health care settings.
• Identify individuals who are at highest risk for acute stroke and discuss the latest guideline recommendations and strategies to optimize preventive management.
