Course Description:
This course explores the prevalence, characteristics, tactics, assessment, psychological and economic impact, victim assistance, and the criminal justice system responses to stalking in the United States.
Learning Objectives:
• Describe the statistics on the prevalence and characteristics of stalking
• Describe the tactics employed by stalkers, including the use of digital technology
• Analyze the assessment of the dangerousness of stalkers
• Describe the impact of stalking on mental disorders and the costs associated with stalking on the victim and society
• Discuss the criminal justice system responses to stalking, including the police and courts
