Course Description:
All persons who hold a professional license issued by the Illinois Division of Professional Regulation and are subject to a continuing education requirement must complete a one-hour course in sexual harassment training. This course is approved for RN, LPN, APRN, OT, PT, physicians, pharmacists, dentists, veterinarians, detectives, cosmetologists, barbers, engineers, accountants, architects, and others.
Course Learning Objectives:
1) Define sexual harassment according to the Illinois Human Rights Act.
2) Identify examples of the types and forms of unlawful sexual harassment.
3) Describe appropriate actions that a victim or witness to sexual harassment in the workplace may take.
4) Explain how to report sexual harassment within one's place of employment and to outside entities.
5) Discuss whistleblower protection laws for employees who report sexual harassment.
6) Summarize the responsibilities of employers to prevent, investigate, and correct sexual harassment.
