Course Description:
Prenatal substance abuse continues to be a signi?cant problem in this country and poses important health risks for the developing fetus. This course provides information for the most common drugs involved in prenatal exposure: nicotine, alcohol, marijuana, opiates, cocaine, and methamphetamine.

• Analyze key issues related to the prevalence, assessment, and mechanism of action for prenatal substance abuse
• Analyze the medical issues that emerge for newborns due to prenatal substance abuse
• Analyze the long-term effects due to prenatal drug exposure
