Description:
The FMA is committed to providing physicians with professional development and educational opportunities that will strengthen their ability to succeed and thrive in whatever professional setting they choose to practice within. Today's healthcare professionals are facing unprecedented organizational, cultural, and professional changes and challenges. With this in mind, the FMA has collaborated with a variety of experts to develop a series of online courses intended to support the leadership skills of Florida physicians. This particular module presented by an expert in conflict management addresses the role of culture in the success (or lack of success) of organizations and highlights strategies that leaders can use to identify the root causes of discord and change them. This course will guide learners through a set of questions that can be used to determine the culture of an organization, as well as an active problem-solving tactic that can be employed to manage conflict and achieve a more positive culture.

Objectives:
As a result of participating in this activity, participants should be able to:
• Identify symptoms of conflict
• Recognize the common sources of organizational conflict
• Utilize specific strategies to manage conflict and create a more positive culture
