Activity overview:
This course is intended to provide an overview of cerebrovascular accidents, known commonly as strokes that discusses the national and worldwide impact of stroke, as well as its main causes, pathophysiologic effects, and current strategies used to prevent stroke to rehabilitate survivors.
Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this continuing education activity, the participant will be able to:
• Define the two major types of stroke that affect the majority of stroke patients
• List the major risk factors that contribute to the incidence of stroke
• Recognize the early warning signs of an imminent cerebrovascular event
• Identify the expeditious steps to stroke intervention
• Name common ways of preventing a primary and secondary stroke
• Name some of the most effective rehabilitation therapies in use
