Many patients who experience pain have chronic conditions that must be considered when developing a treatment plan. This activity reviews possible approaches to the treatment of knee pain in an individual with osteoarthritis and cardiovascular disease—from nonpharmacologic options and non-opioid pharmacology to opioid therapy, with a careful consideration of therapies that do not increase cardiovascular risk.
