OVERVIEW

Women with Autism: Addressing The Overlooked & Misdiagnosed - Live Webinar is organized by Core Wellness LLC and will be held on May 20, 2026.

Topics: Mindfulness, CBT, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Women

Description:
Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is more commonly diagnosed in boys, leaving many girls and adult women overlooked or misdiagnosed. This training shines a light on how autism presents differently in females and explores the unique challenges they face navigating a world built around social norms.

We will dive into the specific ways autism manifests in adolescent girls and adult women, providing practical strategies for clinicians to better recognize and support their needs. You'll also learn how to address common comorbid diagnoses and explore therapeutic approaches, including modified CBT for neurodiverse clients, mindfulness, meditation, solution-focused therapy, breathing techniques, the benefits of yoga, and the use of helpful smartphone apps.

By the end of this course, you'll be equipped with tools and insights to better serve women and girls with autism, ensuring they receive the care and support they deserve.

Upon the completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Articulate common differences in the characteristics and manifestation of autism among females versus males.
  • Recall at least 4 reasons for misdiagnosis and under-diagnosis for females with autism.
  • Recognize common co-occurring conditions that females with autism often experience.
  • Summarize at least 3 strategies and interventions to support females with autism and their family caregivers.
