Description:
Supporting individuals throughout their end-of-life journey requires an understanding of the resources available to them. This session will give professionals an overview of end-of-life care and options for adults in the United States. We will cover topics such as advance care planning, palliative care, hospice care and additional considerations for people living with dementia. We also will discuss end-of-life options such as voluntary stopping eating and drinking, and medical aid in dying.
During our time together, we will discuss ways in which members of a healthcare team can process their feelings about death, and the bias that may come with it, in order to best support their clients at end-of-life.
