OVERVIEW

The Dental Community’s Role in HPV Continuing Education Virtual Conference is organized by Montana Dental Hygienists’ Association (MDHA), American Dental Hygienists Association (ADHA) and will be held on Apr 22, 2023.

Description:
The American Cancer Society (ACS) in partnership with the Montana Dental Hygienists’ Association (MDHA) is proud to present a 4-hour virtual HPV education conference to members and dental
hygienists to promote cancer prevention

HPV has become a serious public health concern. The human papillomavirus, or HPV for short, causes six types of cancers and numerous pre-cancerous symptoms. More than 37,000 men and women in the U.S. are diagnosed with an HPV-related cancer yearly and that number continues to rise. The virus is so common that it will infect most people at some point in their lives. The best way to help prevent HPV infection and cancers is to get vaccinated. Males and females between 9-26 years old can be vaccinated against HPV; but this preventative measure is underutilized. We are inviting dental hygienists from across the state to gather knowledge about HPV and resources to become a cancer prevention advocate within their community.

Additional details will be posted as soon as information is available.
