The 2021 25th Annual International DIRFloortime® Conference is organized by The Interdisciplinary Council on Development and Learning, Inc (ICDL) and will be held from Nov 01 - 30, 2021.
Description:
This month-long live online conference is focused on using a Developmental Individual-differences and Relationship-based (DIR) model to promote development "from the inside out". Promoting development is not about simply training or teaching skills. Promoting development is a "bottom up" and "inside out" process of helping people grow and develop. Using DIRFloortime professionals and parents alike can fully engage in promoting a child's development and increasing their capacity for self-regulation, engagement, communication, problem solving, and thinking and reasoning.
Through lectures, case studies, research reviews, and discussions, participants will have many opportunities throughout the month to deepen their understanding of DIRFloortime and ow to effectively promote development, in particular for children with autism and other developmental challenges.
Learning Objectives:
• Participants will demonstrate the ability to explain the foundations of DIRFloortime® as an interdisciplinary model including describing its foundations in occupational therapy, speech therapy, psychology and mental health, and education.
• Participants will demonstrate the ability to describe at least 3 benefits of a developmentally based model of care across multiple settings.
• The participants will be able to describe how a developmental, individual-difference, and relationship-based approach is utilized in a multidisciplinary fashion to promote positive development for all children including those with autism and other developmental challenges.
Additional details will be posted as soon as information is available.
