Description
The techniques used to unlock and splint acute disruption of the temporomandibular joint secondary to macro trauma in children and adults are presented

Learning objectives
• Gain an understanding of why treating acute disc displacement secondary to microtrauma may save our children from a lifetime of chronic TMD issues
• Learn primary mobilization techniques needed to unlock acute disc displacements in macro traumatic patients and how to build and stabilize the TMJ with a temporary splint.
• Understand the timeline and team approach needed by the medical and dental community to appropriately address acute disc displacement of the TMJ secondary to macro trauma.
