Overview:
Movement disorders are a complex and multifaceted group of illnesses resulting from nerve cell degeneration in the brain. Symptoms includes involuntary movements, muscle rigidity, slowness, changes in speech and gait. Given that each patient is unique, clinicians have to tailor treatment options to each case, even when the diagnosis is the same. • Assess available therapies available for the management of motor and nonmotor symptoms of Parkinson's Disease, Dystonia, Tremor, and other movement disorders
• Describe the indications for deep brain stimulation surgery of Parkinson's Disease, Dystonia, and Tremor.
• Evaluate ongoing and emerging research in Movement Disorders and the implications for emerging therapeutic options
• Guide patients and caregivers in making key treatment decisions in different movement disorders
