'Mental bites' webinar series - Interpersonal Therapy- a practical guide using a trauma lens is organized by The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) and will be held on Dec 01, 2022.

Description:
‘Mental bites’ is a new lunchtime series with bite-sized information presented by the Psychological Medicine Specific Interest group. GPs are aware of mental health assessments, diagnosis, and management, but this series will be an opportunity to learn more about how to do the work - the micro-skills of engagement, forming safe and effective therapeutic alliances and communication with patients.  In the tenth webinar and final of the series, Inter-Personal Therapy (IPT)  will be discussed with Dr. Cathy Andronis (GP, Chair, RACGP Psychological Medicine and Family Therapist).

Learning outcomes:
• To identify micro skills available to engage with patients and their mental health
• Apply techniques to form safe and effective therapeutic communication with patients
