OVERVIEW

Foundations in Dental Leadership (FDL) 2026 is organized by The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (RCSEd) and will be held on Sep 30, 2026.

Description:
Is there a gap in your dental leadership skills? Do you need to demonstrate leadership capabilities? Visible dental leadership is more important than ever as we move towards more integrated care through Primary Care Networks and Integrated Care Systems and a multidisciplinary team model of care. The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh is offering a comprehensive and structured approach to developing leadership skills. The first stand-alone module, "Personal and Relational Leadership," is designed to address both individual growth and team dynamics, which are essential in dental settings. The inclusion of a live virtual session and a Learning Log with recorded lectures and activities provides flexibility for participants to engage with the content at their own pace while still having opportunities for interactive learning and bespoke feedback. Aligning FDL with the GDC’s Principles and Criteria for Specialist Listing, the framework of behaviours and outcomes for dental professional education, and the College's vision for inclusivity and innovation demonstrates a commitment to staying current with professional standards and adapting to the evolving needs of the dental community.
