End-of-Life Nursing Education Consortium (ELNEC) Part 1 2025 is organized by Hartford HealthCare (HHC) and will be held on Dec 26, 2025.
Overview:
The End-of-Life Nursing Education Consortium (ELNEC) Curriculum is a national and international end-of-life/ palliative care educational program designed to enhance quality palliative care in nursing.
Objectives:
As a result of participating in this activity, learners should be able to:
- Identify the need for collaboration with interdisciplinary team members while implementing palliative care.
- Recognize changes in population demographics, healthcare economics, and service delivery that necessitate improved professional preparation for palliative care.
- Describe the philosophy and principles of hospice and palliative care that can be integrated across settings to affect quality care at the end of life.
- Identify symptoms common in advanced disease and strategies for management.
- Identify basic principles of pain assessment and management with a focus on pain at the end of life.
- Identify the unique needs experienced by patients and families throughout the end of life transition.

ACCREDITATION & CREDITS
Accreditation
In support of improving patient care, Hartford HealthCare is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
- Physicians: Hartford HealthCare designates this Live Activity for a maximum of 6.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
- Social Workers: As a Jointly Accredited Organization, Hartford HealthCare is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. Social workers completing this course receive 6.50 general continuing education credits.
- Nurses: This activity is designated for a maximum of 6.50 ANCC contact hours.
- All Other Learners: All other learners will receive a Certificate of Participation for 6.50 hours of education. Consult your professional licensing board regarding the applicability and acceptance of certificates of participation for educational activities certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by Joint Accreditation for Interprofessional Continuing Education.
