Description:
This live training covers the DSM-5 diagnostic criteria for dementia, components of a complete cognitive evaluation, strategies for disclosing a dementia diagnosis, and how to address common challenges in diagnosis.
Educational Objectives:
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
1. Define the diagnostic criteria for dementia or major neurocognitive disorder based on the DSM-5
2. Identify elements of a complete cognitive evaluation, including the history, reviewing comorbidities, evaluating medications, and collecting objective data
3. Apply a framework for disclosing a diagnosis of dementia
4. Describe how to address common challenges in diagnosis
