Center for Excellence in Coaching and Mentoring (CECM): Healthcare Professional Coach Training (HPCT) is organized by Cleveland Clinic Center for Continuing Education and will be held from Oct 14 - 29, 2026.

October 14th, 15th, 28th, 29th | 8:00am - 5:00 pm EST

Description:
Immerse in Cleveland Clinic’s unique Center for Excellence in Coaching & Mentoring (CECM) Coaching framework, emphasizing relationship-centeredness and empathy. Deep dive into underlying coaching fundamentals that transform conversations. Participants report using coaching skills across contexts: with patients, colleagues and in their personal lives.

Whether you are seeking to become a credentialed professional coach* or just interested in enhancing your skills to optimize your role as a coach, mentor, teacher or leader, join us for 32 hours of advanced skills-based coursework in developmental coaching. Trained mentor coaches facilitate participant learning in small groups with direct observation and real-time feedback. Live sessions are complemented by field work assignments and mentor coach debriefs.

Participation in the four-day training includes classroom materials, debriefs, and qualification to sit for the Center for Credentialing & Education's (CCE) Board Certified Coach (BCC) exam upon meeting additional CCE requirements. Additionally, all participants are invited to join our ongoing CECM collaborative calls to further connect with a community of practice like-minded individuals developing related programming at their own institutions, and for continued skill development.

By Participating, You Will Be Able To:

  • Discern the principles and practice of coaching, and how it differs from other support roles (counseling, consulting, mentoring)
  • Explore the coaching fundamentals of the Cleveland Clinic Center for Excellence in Coaching and Mentoring (CECM) Coach Approach: Deep listening, Empathy, Reframing for Asset Based Thinking and Language
  • Demonstrate how to apply the CECM framework and coaching fundamentals in coaching conversations
  • Apply Center for Credentialing and Education/ Board Certified Coach Code of Ethics
