OVERVIEW

British Menopause Society (BMS) Masterclass 2025 is organized by British Menopause Society (BMS) and will be held on Feb 25, 2025.

Description:
Menopause Transition:

  • The transition from normal ovarian function in the reproductive years, through the fluctuating changing stage of perimenopause and then postmenopause can be complex and challenging to recognise and manage. Considerations of changing periods, contraceptive needs, estrogen excess and deficiency effects will be addressed, as well as identifying opportunities to influence current and later health.

Menopause and HRT after gynae cancer:

  • A gynaecological cancer does not always mean that HRT is contraindicated.  We will explore how a cancer diagnosis can lead onto menopause symptoms and how it influences the decision to take HRT. There can be a lot of fear associated with a cancer diagnosis and patients’ needs both support and evidence-based advice to make an informed choice about what is available to them.

Bleeding issues with HRT:

  • Bleeding is a common issue for many women using HRT and recent guidance has helped to risk-stratify patients and ensure women are investigated appropriately and HRT optimised. This session will provide a review of real-life cases providing practical solutions and emphasising the key components of clinical assessment and management
