Description:
The speaker is Clinical Senior Lecturer at the Neuroscience & Mental Health Research Institute, at the Cardiff University, in the UK. She is interested in the aetiology and pathophysiological mechanisms that underpin movement disorders, particularly childhood- and adult-onset Dystonia. Kathryn and her team are using a combination of epidemiology, imaging, invertebrate and cellular models to gain insight into these disorders, why they occur and the pathways that are likely disrupted. Their ultimate aim is to develop model systems that allow identification of new treatments and therapies.
