American Society of Head and Neck Radiology (ASHNR) 55th Annual Meeting

American Society of Head and Neck Radiology (ASHNR) 55th Annual Meeting is organized by American Society of Head and Neck Radiology (ASHNR) and will be held from Sep 08 - 12, 2021.

Target Audience:
• General radiologists seeking to improve their knowledge and skills in head and neck imaging
• Radiologists with neuroradiology training or an interest in head and neck imaging who wish to further increase their knowledge of head and neck anatomy, imaging, and pathology
• Non-radiologist medical practitioners, including otorhinolaryngologists, head and neck surgeons, medical and radiation oncologists, ophthalmologists, skull base surgeons, and general surgeons who are interested in head and neck cancer therapy and diagnosis.
• Dental and oral-maxillofacial practitioners with an interest in anatomy, imaging, and pathology of the jaws and adjacent tissues.
• Allied health professionals with an interest in head and neck cancer and head and neck imaging.
• Physicians-in-training, including residents and fellows pursuing careers in radiology, neuroradiology, otolaryngology, maxillofacial surgery, and/or any of the fields mentioned above.

Description:
The virtual meeting will be jam-packed with the high-quality lectures that the ASHNR is known for. They are excited to offer a 1.5-hour session dedicated to scientific presentations, and there will be numerous electronic exhibits and challenging Cases of the Day to peruse. In addition, they will welcome you to an Exhibitor Hall where you can learn about the newest technologies and learning resources from their sponsors. Even though the schedule is packed, do not worry about missing out on anything, as the lectures will be recorded and made accessible to registered attendees for 90 days after the meeting.

Their program will cover a wide range of topics pertinent to the field of head and neck radiology, kicking off with a Wednesday morning Early Bird Session titled, “Oh, But They’re Weird and They’re Wonderful.” This session gives registered meeting participants the opportunity to present their most puzzling and perplexing cases for discussion with the audience and an expert panel. It will be followed by a special lecture on manifestations of COVID in the head and neck.

Subsequent ASHNR lectures will cover a wide range of head and neck topics, including anatomy and pathology of the orbit, sinonasal region, skull base, temporal bone, maxillofacial structures, various head and neck compartments, lymph nodes, and glands. There will be a session focusing on “How I Do It” that provides specific imaging and procedural tips from faculty experts. In addition, there will be a session on "Avoiding Errors," outlining blind spots as well as interpretational reporting pitfalls. Educational Objectives:
Attendees should, at the completion of this meeting, be able to:
• Confidently discuss normal anatomy, developmental anomalies and various disease processes of the sinuses, nasal cavity and anterior and central skull base
• Recognize the imaging appearance of common head and neck emergencies
• Have knowledge of the anatomy and disease processes of the orbit and visual pathways
• Review the anatomy and the spectrum of pathology affecting cranial nerves and the brachial plexus
• Identify temporal bone anatomy and develop a diagnostic approach to the spectrum of disease processes affecting the temporal bone
• Develop an approach to dental-related abnormalities and temporomandibular joint imaging
• Demonstrate increased knowledge of the different head and neck spaces and their related pathology
• Review head and neck cancer imaging and staging, as well as differentiating features of benign entities and post-treatment changes
• Identify normal anatomy and the spectrum of pathology affecting lymph nodes and glands of the head and neck
• Discuss multiple developmental and acquired processes in the head and neck that affect the pediatric population
• Demonstrate increased knowledge of various imaging techniques applicable to the head and neck, as well as their advantages and disadvantages
• Recognize potential limitations and pitfalls in imaging interpretation
• Consider image-guided biopsy approaches to lesions of the head and neck
