2023 AIM: Advocacy in Medicine Conference

Advocacy in Medicine Conference (AIM) 2023 is organized by The New York Academy of Medicine (NYAM) and will be held on Oct 12, 2023.

Description:
In partnership with The New York Academy of Medicine Advocacy in Medicine (AIM) workgroup, this conference is organized by a committee of health professions students from institutions across New York City.  This year’s theme is centered on LGBTQ+ health.

The keynote will be given by distinguished lawyer, lecturer, and founding director of the LGBTQ+ Advocacy Clinic at Harvard Law School, Alex Chen, JD, MA. Panelist speakers will include researcher Sabina Hirshfield, PhD, gender-affirming care physician Angela Carter, ND, and family medicine resident, Anita Venkatesan, MD, MPH. Additional speakers to be announced.
In addition to a keynote and speaker panel, the 2023 Advocacy in Medicine Conference will feature an opportunity for student presentations of original work.
