Description:
This CE course provides an overview of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder in Adults, including information on the diagnosis, identification, conceptualization, and treatment of ADHD in adult populations. This course will also cover the history of ADHD in adult populations, the prevalence of diagnosis across demographic groups, common misconceptions about ADHD in adults, co-occurring diagnoses, ADHD and neurodiversity, and ethical considerations for treating ADHD in adult populations.

Learning Objectives:

  • Define 5 diagnostic characteristics of adult ADHD.
  • Identify 5 symptoms of inattention and 5 symptoms of hyperactivity-impulsivity.
  • Identify 3 mental diagnoses that commonly co-occur with ADHD
  • Design 3 intervention strategies for supporting clients with ADHD.
