OVERVIEW

ACT Strategies for Adult ADHD: Building Attention, Resilience, and Execution - Live Webinar is organized by Core Wellness LLC and will be held on Sep 15, 2026.

Course Description:
This course is designed for mental health professionals seeking to enhance their skills in using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to treat adults with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). The course will provide an in-depth exploration of how ACT’s principles and techniques can be uniquely applied to address the challenges faced by adults with ADHD, including difficulties with attention, impulsivity, and emotional regulation.
Participants will learn how to integrate ACT’s six core processes—cognitive defusion, acceptance, contact with the present moment, self-as-context, values, and committed action—into their therapeutic work with ADHD clients. Through a combination of didactic instruction, case studies, and interactive exercises, attendees will gain practical skills for helping clients manage ADHD symptoms, enhance focus, and improve their overall quality of life.
The training will also cover how to tailor ACT interventions to the specific needs of ADHD clients, addressing common comorbidities such as anxiety and depression, and fostering resilience and psychological flexibility. By the end of the course, participants will be equipped to implement ACT strategies effectively, empowering their clients to live more fulfilling and value-driven lives despite the challenges of ADHD.

Upon the completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Describe and apply the six core processes of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)—including cognitive defusion, acceptance, present-moment awareness, self-as-context, values, and committed action—in clinical work with adults diagnosed with ADHD.
  • Demonstrate the use of at least 3 ACT-based interventions to address key symptoms of adult ADHD, including difficulties with attention, impulsivity, and emotional regulation, through case studies and experiential exercises.
  • Identify at least 4 strategies to adapt ACT techniques for clients with ADHD who also experience comorbid conditions such as anxiety and depression, with the goal of promoting psychological flexibility and value-based living.
