OVERVIEW

Abortion Care Essentials 2024 is organized by Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG), British Society of Abortion Care Providers (BSACP) and will be held on Jan 30, 2024.

Overview:
This comprehensive online course equips clinicians with essential knowledge in abortion care, enabling them to practice confidently and ethically within the UK legal and clinical framework at any stage of an abortion

In the UK one in three women undergo an abortion, highlighting the importance of proper education. Research shows that medical, nursing and midwifery students often lack adequate clinical training in abortion care. This course addresses the gap by providing up-to-date insights and guidance on medical and surgical abortions, respectful patient care and UK abortion laws.

Our expert speakers will guide you through essential skills including how to take a relevant history, assess eligibility, gain consent and identify contraindications and the need for additional support.
