33rd Annual Psychiatric Pharmacotherapy Update is organized by University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy and will be held from Oct 21 - 22, 2021.
Who Should Attend:
Pharmacists, psychiatrists, physicians, nurses, psychologists and social workers who specialize in or have an interest in neuropsychiatric disorders and wish to enhance their awareness and knowledge of the most recent advances impacting contemporary practice. Social workers, please see the agenda to identify which sessions (*) have been designated as information that will meet your specific educational needs, and offer social work-specific continuing education credit.
Conference Goal:
To provide pharmacists, psychiatrists, physicians, nurses, psychologists and social workers with timely and clinically useful information about applying neuroscience principles and evidence-based approaches to the management of selected psychiatric and neurologic disorders.
Content Description:
The content of this conference is based on practice gaps identified by surveying past participants and by analyzing practice trends. Participants receive 2 days of evidence-based clinical information that is relevant to current psychiatric practice (see Agenda). Speakers, who have been recommended by the planning committee as outstanding presenters and experts in their practice, will deliver the featured presentations. Each presentation is formatted with a didactic component, opportunities for active learning, and a Q&A discussion to allow audience members to ask specific questions for individualized learning.
This year, the agenda also features a panel discussion that gives practitioners of different disciplines the opportunity to take on challenging patient cases to demonstrate how varying viewpoints may approach patient care. The information delivered at this conference is intended to be in-depth, yet practical enough that it can be utilized immediately upon return to practice, to implement individualized, comprehensive and evidence-based treatment plans for patients.
This conference is a regional program for the College of Psychiatric and Neurologic Pharmacists (CPNP) organization, whose members are dedicated to the promotion of rational pharmacotherapy and care for patients with central nervous system (CNS) disorders. Our conference is developed in collaboration with key members of CPNP, to ensure our psychiatric conference addresses the disparity between current pharmacotherapy practices and evidence-based best practices.
Note: The program will now be offered only as a virtual two-day program featuring 12 live broadcast sessions alone with additional on-demand content.
