OVERVIEW

2026 International DIrFloortime® conference is organized by The Interdisciplinary Council on Development and Learning, Inc. (ICDL) and will be held from Oct 18 - 27, 2026.

Description:
This 10-day-long live online conference is focused on all things DIR® and DIRFloortime®.  

Through lectures, case studies, research reviews, and discussions, participants will have many opportunities throughout the 10 days to deepen their understanding of DIRFloortime and how to effectively promote development, in particular for individuals on the autism spectrum or with other neurodevelopmental differences and/or disabilities.  

Learning Objectives:

  1. Describe how a developmental, individual-difference, and relationship-based approach is utilized in various cultural contexts to support development across the lifespan in a strengths-based way. 
  2. Identify at least 2 ways that a developmental understanding based on FEDCs contributes to meaningful relationships. 
  3. Explain the importance of the transdisciplinary nature of DIR and describe at least two strategies that can be used across a variety of disciplines to support an individual’s development. 
  4. Describe ways that DIRFloortime Coaching supports development at home, at school, and in other practice settings.

This conference is offered for up to 6.9 ASHA CEUs (Various levels, Professional area).

Important Information for Speech and Language Pathologists:
During registration or when completing the CE reporting form, you will be asked if you want CE credits for ASHA for this conference. Selecting "yes" is required for ICDL to process your ASHA continuing education credits. If you choose "yes," our Continuing Education Department will complete and submit an ASHA participant form on your behalf at the conclusion of the conference as long as your attendance requirements are met.

We also request that all participants complete a course evaluation form that is found on the conference page.  This conference evaluation is for ICDL and is used to help improve all aspects of our training program. Your feedback is valuable, and we thank you for your time!

ICDL is an AOTA Approved Provider of professional development. Pending PD activity approval ID #16250. This distance learning-interactive activity is offered at up to 6.9 CEUs, introductory level, foundational knowledge, OT Service Delivery. The assignment of AOTA CEUs does not imply endorsement of specific course content, products, or clinical procedures by AOTA.

International Council on Development and Learning has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. International Council on Development and Learning is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.

This conference will have one specific track for earning ASWB Continuing education credits. Not all presentations will be eligible for ACE credit. The ACE Track of presentations is to be determined. Updates will be posted here soon.

Psychologists:
The International Council on Development and Learning is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. The International Council on Development and Learning maintains responsibility for this program and its content.  Psychologists will earn 1.5 CE Credits for each 90-minute session attended in entirety. 

Physical Therapists:
International Council on Development and Learning is recognized by APTA Massachusetts as an approved provider of professional continuing education.
