Welcome to the Advanced Addiction Psychopharmacology (AAP) Virtual Course, presented by the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry (AAAP). This intensive, 14-hour online course is designed for physicians and other health care professionals who have a foundation in prescribing medication for patients with substance use disorders, including those with co-occurring psychiatric conditions, but would like a deeper understanding of these pharmacotherapies. The course features nationally recognized faculty experts.

The AAP curriculum alternates focus areas each year between two core topics: Treatment of Co-occurring Conditions and Pharmacotherapy of Substance Use Disorders. This year’s course focuses on Treatment of Co-occurring Conditions, with content updated since the topic was last presented in 2024 to reflect current evidence and practice. New this year is a session on Pharmacotherapy of Insomnia with Co-Occurring Substance Use Disorders, addressing an area of growing clinical importance for prescribers managing patients with overlapping sleep and substance use disorders.

This two-day course features live webinar discussions and interactive Q&A sessions, designed for learners with a foundational understanding in addictions. Participants will gain a deeper, more comprehensive education in the pharmacotherapy of substance and co-occurring disorders.
