NCI Workshop On Proton Therapy For Children: Considerations Regarding Brainstem Injury is organized by American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) and will be held during Apr 09, 2018 - Apr 08, 2020.
The target audience for this medical event is radiation oncologists, radiation oncology residents, physicists, and nurses. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 1.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit.
Informs readers of the incidence and likely mechanism of brainstem injury in the context of proton therapy. Practical recommendations are made in modifying dose limits when using proton therapy to protect children with tumors involving the posterior fossa.
Course Objectives :
• Describe the radiographic and clinical manifestations of brainstem injury from radiation therapy.
• Explain the risk and mechanism of brainstem injury when using proton therapy in children with tumors involving the posterior fossa.
