Identifying and Treating Anxiety in Young Children: April 2025 is organized by Healio.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Learn the rationale and process for conceptualizing and assessing anxiety disorders in young children, along with practical approaches to early identification including behavioral observation and parent-report screeners.
  2. Understand the role of parental accommodation in maintaining young children’s avoidant behavior according to current research in this population, and best practices for addressing accommodation in treatment.
  3. Become familiar with the evidence base for family-based CBT for young children with anxiety, and treatment components and implementation strategies in children age 7 and under.
  4. Gain knowledge of current literature on the assessment and treatment of anxiety in young autistic children to inform their clinical practice.
