In this course, experts from HSS and the Arthritis Foundation discuss the full range of hip OA, including its earliest risk factors in infancy; the roles of mechanics, genetics, and epigenetics in hip OA development; the effect of acute cartilage injury in adults; and the benefits of rehabilitation before and after surgery in late-stage hip OA.

Learning Objectives:
HSS Continuing Education activities are intended to improve the quality of patient care and safety. At the conclusion of this activity participants will be able to:

  • Discuss the earliest risk factors for developing hip OA, including those that appear in infancy.
  • Describe the roles of mechanics, genetics, and epigenetics in hip OA development.
  • Discuss the surgical and non-surgical techniques for managing hip OA, including the benefits of rehabilitation before and after surgery in late-stage hip OA.
